About You

Just turned 43 but don't look it. Married for 12 years this summer. No kids, but 2 dogs. Wife didn't like dogs when we got married. Now she loves them. Got involved in rescueing unwanted dogs from puppy mills. Have our 5th dog now. First one lived to be 16 yrs, 9 m. Second dog is a beagle/terrier named Lexie. She was attacked by a larger dog so she has broken ribs, scars but is fine. Third dog was a poodle puppy mill dog named Penny. She had Cushings disease and died from that. Fourth dog was a little poodle named Rose, also a puppy mill dog. She was blind and deaf and lived to be 13-14 yrs old (estimate). She had bad kidneys when we got her and they finally gave out on her. 5th dog is a little poodle named Dexter, also a puppy mill dog. Had terrible stomach ulcers when we got him and was bleeding internally. He is fine now and has gained our trust (most puppy mill dogs spend their whole life in a cage with no contact from humans). He loves his toys (something new to him) and loves Lexie. He's learning to understand words like hungry, outside etc. Currently in physical therapy (again) for chronic disc pain. Worked at Fiskar assembly plant until they closed. Worked at WalMart for 9 years. Neuroligist put me on permanent work restrictions and WalMart had me fill out request for accomidation to work in store with restrictions. Home office denied request and was let go last year. Now must wait for courts to decide what will happen. Waiting to see if therapy will work, otherwise Dr will do medial branch neurotomy to destroy nerves in lower spine. Don't know how thats going to work. Wife works at little restaurant in town. Love to be home with dogs during the day. Try to look forward to something every day, chatting on line, selling on Ebay, playing with dogs, tv shows, etc.
